Orchid Photo (兰摄影) is a wedding and portrait photography studio in Toronto. We keep this simple: we collect only what we need to help you, we never sell your information, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
What we collect
• Details you give us — when you use our contact form or inquire through our assistant, we collect what you choose to share: your name, email, phone, event date, and any message. • Your conversation, only if you inquire — if you chat with our AI assistant 小兰 and choose to leave your details, we save that conversation alongside your inquiry so our team has context to follow up. We do not store the conversations of visitors who don't submit an inquiry. • Anonymous site signals — basic, on-device signals (such as whether you've visited before) that contain no personal information and stay in your browser. • An ad-click identifier — if you arrive from one of our Google ads, the web address includes a click identifier (a code that tags the ad click — on its own it is not your name or contact details, though we treat it as information about you) that we record to measure ad effectiveness, as described under "Measuring our ads."
Our AI assistant (小兰)
小兰 is an AI assistant that helps answer questions on our website, and it will tell you it is an AI. It is powered by a third-party provider (Anthropic), and your messages are processed on their servers, which may be located outside Canada (in the United States). Your chat is not saved unless you choose to leave your details for our team to follow up.
How we use your information
We use the details you give us only to respond to you, prepare an accurate quote, and follow up about your photography. We do not sell or rent your information, we do not send you marketing email unless separately disclosed, and we do not use your name, email, or phone to target advertising. We do measure which Google ads lead to inquiries — using a click identifier only, never your contact details — as described under "Measuring our ads" below.
Measuring our ads
Some people find us through Google ads. When you arrive from one of our ads, Google adds a click identifier to the web address (a code that tags the ad click — on its own it is not your name or contact details, though we treat it as information about you). So we can see which ads actually lead to inquiries, we record that click identifier and later tell Google, from our own server, that an inquiry or studio-visit booking happened, along with the date and a fixed value we set for that step in our reporting. This value is the same for every inquiry — it is not based on your actual quote, budget, or any payment. This uses the click identifier only; we do not send Google your name, email, phone, or message for this purpose. We do not use Google Analytics, gtag.js, or advertising cookies for this measurement, and we set no advertising cookies, pixels, or other trackers on this site. The click identifier is read from the web address and recorded on our own server. Google (Google LLC, in the United States) and its service providers may process this information outside Canada, where it may be subject to lawful access by foreign authorities. We keep the click identifier only as long as needed for this measurement — and in any case no longer than 90 days, or the period described under "How long we keep it," whichever is shorter. Because we store this click identifier together with your inquiry, we treat it as your information and handle it under this policy. If you have questions about this ad-effectiveness measurement, or would like to make a privacy-related request such as access, correction, or deletion, please contact us using the details below. We will handle your request in accordance with applicable law.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as needed for your inquiry and any booking relationship, then we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
