Jing & Charles
Some wedding days are remembered for one moment; Jing and Charles' held several at once. It moved from the bright noise of a traditional Chinese morning to quieter, modern portraits, and then to something even more grounding — a family, already in motion.
A Red, Joyful Morning
The day opened with door games and the bride pick-up: bridesmaids guarding the room, groomsmen talking their way in, laughter building from one challenge to the next. Red decor, the 'double happiness' character, a groom kneeling to help with a shoe — not side notes, but the emotional opening of the day.
Modern Portraits, and Family
As the day went on, the bold reds gave way to clean, modern light and a calmer pace. Some of the most quietly memorable moments came later, when the couple's young child joined them — pulling the day out of 'wedding mode' and back into something more natural. After fifteen years photographing Toronto weddings, we've learned the days that stay with us are the complete ones: tradition and spontaneity, romance and family, all allowed to exist together.
