A Small Wedding Can Still Feel Like You — Shelley & Steven

There is a quiet myth in wedding culture that bigger always means better.

A bigger venue. A bigger guest count. A bigger budget. A bigger production.

But some of the most memorable wedding days do not feel memorable because they were large. They feel memorable because they were intentional. Because the couple knew what mattered to them, and because the day made room for it.

Shelley and Steven’s wedding felt like a good reminder of that.

They are both public school teachers, and there was something about the entire day that reflected that same kind of grounded energy: thoughtful, calm, and unpretentious. It was not trying too hard to be anything other than what it was. And because of that, it had a kind of ease that many larger weddings spend a lot of money trying to create.

When the setting is simple, the feeling matters more

One of the things we loved most about this wedding was how much atmosphere came out of an ordinary hotel setting.
